Midlands contractor, Shaylor Group has begun the construction of a new £8.5 million diabetes centre at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital.

Recently awarded projects in the construction division total over £2.5 million including a £1 million refurbishment to dog kennels on behalf of Defence Estates in Lincolnshire.

Further jobs include a door replacement scheme at Sutton Coldfield's The Mall shopping centre. This follows a £2.57 million new central glazed atrium, which the company undertook in 2006.

The Special Projects division has also had a successful start to the year with various healthcare projects. These include relocation of the pathology department at Kidderminster Hospital along with refurbishment works to the renal department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
