The service sector in Coventry and Warwickshire is still growing in the face of tough economic conditions, it has emerged.
More companies in the sector – which includes firms in leisure, communication and finance – have reported a slight increase in custom for the previous three months, according to the latest quarterly survey of the sector by Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.
Seventy three per cent of firms in the service sector say sales have remained constant or improved, compared to 66 per cent at the same time in March.
Only 56 per cent of manufacturers say sales have risen or remained the same in the past three months, whereas 77 per cent of companies were reporting no fall in March.
Stephen Docherty, policy officer at the chamber, said: “We have had some very positive announcements of late.”
