Booming Worcester-based Greencare Environmental has announced an acquisition which takes it into the "top five providers" of rental water machines in the UK.

The company, which is run by husband and wife team Adam and Carole Warren, has acquired Mainline Water Solutions in Hemel Hempstead to add to the Greencare H20 arm of the business.

The move increases the Greencare staff to about 150 working from offices in Worcester, Kent, Essex, Hampshire and Warrington.

Greencare Environmental provides washroom services to businesses and has increased sales from #962,000 in 2001 to #4.5 million in 2004. It aims to top #10 million in 2006.

A spokesman said the Mainline Water Solutions deal lifted the business into the top five of rental water machine providers in the UK.

Greencare was founded in 1996 when the couple set the business up from home.

The company provides customers such as Coventry University and Birmingham Royal Ballet with hygiene services such as sanitary disposal, vending, soap and air fresh units.

Mr Warren, Greencare's managing director, said: "The acquisition of Mainline Water Solutions caps a fantastic year for Greencare."

Mrs Warren praised the company's staff and said "a client retention rate of over 90 per cent is recognition of the hard work everyone here puts in".
