Hundreds of Midlands Rolls-Royce engineering workers will stage a rally today in support of a trade union convenor sacked at another factory.
Jerry Hicks, a member of Amicus, was fired from the Bristol plant after the company accused him of organising unlawful industrial action earlier in the summer.
Almost 100 union members at Bristol are on indefinite strike in support of Mr Hicks, warning that the industrial action will hit production.
Union members at the firm's plant in Derby will now make their protest, leaving the factory and staging a rally in a nearby sports stadium.
Mr Hicks, who maintains he was targeted because he was a union official, will speak at the rally.
Amicus regional secretary, Nev Jackson, said: "Trade unionists within Rolls-Royce and outside are appalled by the treatment of Jerry and are supporting the strike and campaign for his reinstatement."
