Richard Parrott, a former manager for Panasonic’s robotics division, has launched a new franchise of Wiltshire Farm Foods in Stafford Park, Telford.
He said: “After 26 years in the engineering and manufacturing industry travelling the world, I felt that it was time for a new challenge, so I thought I would try my hand in the food industry.
“I bought a share of Wiltshire Farm Foods Lichfield three years ago and quickly learnt how to run the business.
“An opportunity came up to buy the Shropshire franchise and I jumped at the chance.
“We started off in Cannock but decided to relocate to Telford to accommodate our expansion plans and take advantage of the town’s central location, which is perfect for what we do.”
Wiltshire Farm Foods Shropshire received help with finding the right premises and advice on recruitment and training from Transforming Telford.
Transforming Telford is an economic regeneration company working in partnership with AWM, English Partnerships, Telford & Wrekin Council and the private sector.
Claire Freeman, investor development manager at Transforming Telford, said: “Wiltshire Farm Foods Shropshire is a great investment for Telford and is another string in the bow for the town’s growing food and drink sector.”
Wiltshire Farm Foods was established more than 16 years ago and the company operates in 60 franchises across the UK and Ireland.
