Forget legendary screen stars Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, there is now a new name in Casablanca - RH Freight!
RH, which has a major base at Olton in Solihull, is now providing a new regular service to and from Morocco.
It is in conjunction with Casablancan-based operator, Janismar.
Andrew Baxter, RH's operations director, said: "The main trade between the UK and Morocco has traditionally been in textiles, with fabric being sent south and completed
garments being returned to the UK. This is still a big market, however Morocco is a rapidly developing country with lots of new industries and there are now many more opportunities for other types of businesses to trade."
RH's network now covers the whole of mainland Europe as well as North Africa. The company also offers a weekly import service from Hong Kong and China.
The RH Group has two hubs in the UK - Nottingham and West Thurrock near London.
The company also has branches in Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, East Midlands Airport, Felixstowe, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London Heathrow, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Sheffield and Solihull.
It employs 400 people in Nottingham and 300 at its other branches and depots.
It is the largest British owned road freight customer of Eurotunnel and has a fleet of 300 satellite-tracked trucks and 650 semi-trailers.
