Developer Urban Splash has clinched a hat-trick of retail lettings for the iconic Fort Dunlop scheme in Birmingham.
Redeveloped as a business park under one roof, the landmark building has attracted the first three of several retail brands to open this autumn.
Furniture and home accessories store Dwell has chosen Fort Dunlop for its first retail outlet outside London, with a 12,000 square foot ground floor unit.
Snap Galleries is also relocating from the Custard Factory in Birmingham to take 2,000 sq ft of space at Fort Dunlop.
Opening at the beginning of November, the space will be devoted to bringing together one of the world's finest collections of rock and roll photographs.
The Daily Grind Coffee Company is a Birmingham-based coffee outlet that will sell fine quality freshly hand ground coffee, smoothies, juices and light bites such as paninis and hand made cakes.
A new venture, it will move into a 600 sq ft unit on the ground floor, adjacent to the newly created atrium area.
The new retail deals come just a week after Urban Splash announced Boxer as its first office tenant.
The fast growing design consultancy and its sister firm, The Marketing Store, are relocating from their Coleshill base to a second floor 7,674 sq ft unit at the building.
Nathan Cornish, associate director for development at Urban Splash, said: "Fort Dunlop is an exciting design-led scheme where the six upper floors are offices.
"The retail mix on ground floor is, therefore, incredibly important and is essential to complement the office space and the building's design-led emphasis.
"A quality coffee shop, a great furniture store and an exciting art gallery is exactly what we wanted so we are delighted that they have all signed.
"With space from just £10 per square foot and Fort Dunlop open for business this year there are plenty more announcements on their way."
Commercial agency surveyor Emily Jones added: "It's most unusual that we have retail outlets signing up so early on. It's proof of the industry's confidence in Fort Dunlop as a successful office, retail, leisure and lifestyle destination.
"With Dwell, The Daily Grind Coffee Company and Snap Galleries all due to be opened by November and many more retail, leisure and lifestyle announcements imminent, Fort Dunlop's future visitors, shoppers and 2,500 office tenants will be guaranteed a wide selection of quality places to eat, drink, shop, relax and unwind in."
