Housing resident Amina Yassin got to meet stars of the stage in Birmingham - thanks to a unique partnership with Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
Amina from Saltley, was given an exclusive backstage tour of the set of the new play Rafta, Rafta and had tea with its stars Ronny Jhutti and Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi.
Ashram and Accord Housing Associations have formed a part-nership with Birmingham Repertory Theatre to encourage their residents from different neighbourhoods to attend the theatre by offering tickets for just £1. Drama workshops are also being held for residents.
Amina was one of the first residents to attend the theatre.
She said: "It was really interesting to see the set and get an insight into how things work behind the scenes, and meeting the actors was fantastic. I think it's a great idea to encourage more people to get out and into see live theatre."
Accord chief executive Dr Chris Handy said: "A significant number of our residents are from communities where people do not traditionally enjoy the theatre.
We wanted to give them the chance to experience live performances on stage."
