Law firm Browne Jacobson has appointed one of the region's top finance specialists, Paul Ray, to head up its finance practice in Birmingham.
The move signals Browne Jacobson's intent to become a dominant player in the West Midlands legal marketplace, having opened its new office on Victoria Square on May 4.
Mr Ray, aged 41, was previously a partner at Eversheds, where he spent seven years gaining experience of acquisition, property and restructuring finance.
A graduate of Birmingham University, he will work alongside Michael Lodge at Browne Jacobson's Birmingham office to provide banks and businesses undertaking investments with a total legal service.
Managing partner Brian Smith said: "We are obviously delighted to have someone with the reputation and skills of Paul joining the firm at such an exciting time.
"Paul's arrival at Browne Jacobson is testament to our planned investment in our Birmingham practice, which also includes two further partner appointments in May."
