A Birmingham office worker who just seven months ago was stuffing envelopes has scooped top prize at a major awards ceremony.
Rachael Bell, aged 27, from Stourbridge, was crowned Temp of the Year at the Katie Bard and AM Legal awards held at the Orange Studio.
Katie Bard and AM Legal, which has offices in Waterloo Street, are part of the Angela Mortimer Group which has more than 1,000 temps working for it every day.
Rachael scooped the award after a seven-month period which saw her move from a junior administrator at National Debtline to helping run the HR department at the Fiveways-based organisation, which provides free confidential and independent advice on how to deal with debt problems.
She said: "I went there just seven months ago and have really enjoyed my time there. I am really surprised to have won but delighted that I was nominated by them in the first place."
Rachael was praised by the judges for her dedication and enthusiasm.
Sarah Stone, a senior consultant at Katie Bard, said: "Rachael is everything anyone would want in a staff member - she is full of enthusiasm, very hard working and extremely popular.
"This is the first time we have held these awards and the competition was extremely tough but Rachael deserves her success," she added.
