A Midland solicitors firm has raised nearly £3,000 for charity through the Will Aid scheme.

Will Aid allows people to write a will with a solicitor and instead of paying a fee, the customer makes a donation to Will Aid, which supports charities including the NSPCC, Save the Children and Christian Aid.

QualitySolicitors Talbots’, which has offices across the West Midlands, has helped raise £2,900 to date.

In 2012 Will Aid received more than £1.2 million in donations.

Gillian Bowskill, head of trusts and estates at QualitySolicitors Talbots, said: “The suggested donation is £90 for a basic single will or £135 for a pair of basic mirror wills, which is really good value.

“It is less than the normal price – and no VAT.”

Martyn Morgan, senior partner at QualitySolicitors Talbots, said: “We are happy to support Will Aid and have done so for many years.

“It is a simple way for us to help a number of worthy causes and we really encourage the public to get involved with the scheme.”
