Expanding national pub chain J D Wetherspoon is set to open two new outlets in the West Midlands, creating about 100 new jobs.
The Black Horse, on Bristol Road South, Birmingham, and the Spon Gate at the Coventry Skydome complex, are set to open their doors in July, the company said.
They are two of 12 new Wetherspoons outlets opening in July in a £12.5 million expansion plan. The other pubs are located in Blackpool, Aylesbury, Otley, Newbury, Nottingham, Petersfield, Sherwood, Cambridge, Sheffield and Whittlesey. A total of 550 full and part-time jobs are being created.
JD Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin said: “We are very pleased to be opening 12 new pubs and creating so many jobs throughout July.
“Our pubs continue to prove popular and it is especially rewarding to be opening outlets in a number of areas where we are not yet represented.”
Wetherspoons now has a total of 766 pubs across the UK.
