Birmingham technology services provider Probrand has continued its march on the eprocurement sector - signing a strategic alliance worth a potential £1 million with informa-DATA, part of the world's largest provider of business information.
The mutually beneficial agreement will see Probrand market its tried and tested on-line IT procurement hub, The IT Index, to 15,000 key decision-makers within the B2B (business to business) and public sectors on a revenue share basis with informaDATA.
The IT Index is a webbased IT procurement solution that daily lists more than 55,000 products by best price and availability from more than 500 different vendors in a secure on-line environment.
The Birmingham firm claims its solution is the only procurement offering of its type to be fully accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
And with customers like David Gatford, central services officer at Cheltenham Borough Council, finding: "On average it is saving at least a day a week in time" and public sector bodies realising the need for efficient eprocurement, Probrand is anticipating a considerable upsurge in business.
Steve Bushell, Probrand Group head of business development, said: "We have agreed a first of a kind alliance that will unlock new business for the IT Index while opening up an innovative approach to a totally new area of business for informaDATA.
"As a strategic method of spurring growth and new business, I have complete confidence that a host of new organisations will be switched onto the positive business impact that the IT Index offers."
InformaDATA's general manager, Peter Coomb, added: "Probrand is recognised as a leading light in innovative on-line procurement solutions and its IT Index is just one example within the IT vertical sector.
"Given our credentials as holding the key to a refined list of senior decision makers within a growth sector for Probrand, this partnership has attracted our full focus and we look forward to strengthening our relationship with Probrand on a go forward basis."
Established in 1992, Probrand is a major supplier of top branded computer products - ranging from a floppy disk to a fully implemented network. Located in the heart of Birmingham, the firm now employs more than 50 people.
