Halftime turnover has climbed 24 per cent to £8.5 million for Birmingham-based technology firm Probrand.

The company says that 85 per cent of sales is now generated by its online procurement hub, called the IT Index.

Every day it lists more than 55,000 product lines from 500 manufacturers by best price and availability.

Probrand's IT services and support arm, Icomm Technologies, has also clocked up a series of new accounts to grow by nearly ten per cent in the first half year.

Managing director Peter Robbins said: "To take our business forward we have always maintained an innovative and dynamic approach.

"It is the success of this approach that led us to develop and offer a solution that takes the pain out of IT procurement, providing bottom line savings and financial controls with the IT Index.

"Additionally, we have more online propositions that we are currently developing to take the business into other markets."

He added: "As organisations continue to refine their overhead spend, financial directors and procurement professionals are constantly on the lookout for strategies to help facilitate business efficiency.

"We aim to meet this need at every turn.

"With considerable organic growth within our team and the development of some new solutions for a growing market we are looking in a good position to hit our end-of-year forecasts."
