A national printing business which has unveiled a 60.6 per cent rise in pretax profits is planning to expand its operation in Birmingham.
Printing.com - which has a branch on Smallbrook Queensway - is planning to extend its reach in the city to east Birmingham on the A45 and South West Birmingham on the Hagley Road.
Chief executive Tony Rafferty said the business had posted preliminary results for the year to March 31 showing profits before tax of £1.51 million, an increase of 60.6 per cent on the previous year.
He said: " We said last year we had capacity and a good pipeline to the market and we were proved right.
"We expect more of the same in the next financial year."
He said analysts were predicting profits would rise to between £2.4 million to £2.5 million.
The company's stores - it has branches all over the UK - do not have any printing equipment on location.
It has four routes to the market: franchise stores, bolt-on franchises, company owned stores, and via the company's website where online design and ordering are handled. Expansion was set to continue with a 50 per cent increase in floor space scheduled and a further jump in printing capacity planned.
The business was currently opening a new outlet every fifth working day, Mr Rafferty said.
