An intrepid team of Prince’s Trust staff are taking part in an Indiana Jones-style adventure to raise funds for the charity.

Staff based at The Prince’s Trust’s offices in Birmingham, Lye and Worcester will join more than 40 teams at the annual Lions Raft Race on Sunday, June 22, and are appealing for sponsorship support.

The raft race, oganised by Wellesbourne & District Lions Club and The Shakespeare Lions Club of Stratford-on-Avon, challenges teams of up to 10 people to complete a sponsored route on the river Avon from Wasperton to Stratford with funds raised helping young people out of work take steps to return to further education, training and employment.

Gareth Smith of The Prince’s Trust said: “As the beneficiary of this renowned and popular event, we were only too willing to build our own raft we hope will give everyone a run for their money.

“Although our fundraising ventures normally take place on land, we are confident our team-working abilities will keep us afloat and we are appealing to the local community to support our efforts by making a donation to our team.”
