Bert Hackett receives his Press Club tie from Jasper Carrott and Press Club chairman John Lamb

The tables were turned on veteran Birmingham Post cartoonist Gemini when he attended a lunch in his honour at the Burlington Hotel in the city.

Gemini, our own Bert Hackett was presented with a specially commissioned cartoon - of himself.

The event was organised by Birmingham Press Club where Bert became the first recipient of the organisation's new tie, and was shown how to wear it by comic star Jasper Carrott, who was guest of honour at the event. Also pictured is Press Club chairman John Lamb.

The lunch also celebrated the 140th birthday of the Press Club, which is the oldest in the world. It was founded on December 16, 1865, following a meeting at Suffield's Hotel, in Union Passage.
