Birchfield Education Trust has outsourced its nursery provision to Prepcare LLP.

Located on the Shropshire-Staffordshire border, Birchfield Prepcare nursery is situated on the Birchfield School site in Albrighton.

The new-look nursery opened earlier this month and provides wrap-around childcare for children aged from six weeks to four years.

Richard Phillips of Prepcare said: "Significant investment has been made to the existing site at Birchfield.

" Prepcare, together with its associated company Beehive Day Nurseries, is one of the leading children's nursery day care providers in the Midlands.

"We believe that the new nursery will provide the very best care and education for boys and girls."

Penny Shevyn has been appointed as nursery manager.

Clare Cadwallader, of Birchfield School, said: "We are delighted to have teamed up with Prepcare and are confident they will provide the very best in pre-school care for the children.

"Birchfield has been a boys' school ever since it was founded in 1935 but the new co-educational nursery means that as of September 2006 girls will enter the school for the first time."

Kam Johal, of Black Country law firm Manby & Steward, which advised on the deal, added: "I am pleased that the deal ran smoothly.

"It is a very exciting time for everyone involved."

Manby & Steward has offices in Wolverhampton, Telford and Bridgnorth.
