Operators of the Midlands largest indoor recycling plant, Premier Waste UK, has secured a waste management deal worth over £200,000 at Birmingham's tallest residential development, Beetham Tower.

Working with construction company, Laing O'Rourke, the 47-week contract will handle over 1,000 tonnes of waste, which will be produced during the development project.

When complete, the Beetham Tower will be the city's tallest residential building reaching a massive 120 metres and 39 storeys high. It will boast an impressive mix of penthouses and apartments with a five star Radisson hotel and health club.

Premier Waste, based at Perry Barr, claims it is able to reduce the amount of waste it sends to landfill by 88 per cent, through a £5 million waste segregation unit.

The unit can recycle 600-800 tonnes of waste daily and has already made a positive contribution toward higher standards of environmental performance at landmark developments including Selfridges.
