Businesses in the West Midlands are being urged to use the power and interest in their local football club to gain access to millions of fans - including those following Wolves, West Brom, Walsall and Kidderminster - via a new online venture developed by Business Finder Ltd and FL Interactive.
Business Finder - which launched on Sunday - is an online business directory, hosted on official club websites, giving companies the opportunity to be associated with their local football club.
The service aims to become the first port of call for all fans' whenever they need to source a range of business services, be it a requirement for a plumber, decorator or even financial advice.
A number of different options are available for companies to 'partner' with clubs, from sponsoring the main web-link or category sections to registering their details - all of which generate revenue for the clubs.
By partnering with FL Interactive and its network of local football clubs, Business Finder guarantees that businesses will reach fans connected to the club via the website and offline through wider marketing of the service, ensuring that all fans and supporters are able to support businesses that support their clubs.
Pam Gregory, operations director at Business Finder, said: " Nearly 170,000 fans visit these four official websites each month.
"This is a great opportunity for businesses to harness the affinity between supporters and clubs to gain access to thousands of potential new customers.
"Football fans are very loyal to their clubs and a large proportion support businesses that support their team.
"Business Finder is a great way for businesses to support their local club in an affordable way, whilst giving themselves the chance to generate new business from loyal fans and corporate supporters."
