Pinsent Masons has clinched a major coup with the move of Midlands heavyweight corporate lawyer David Stevenson to its Birmingham office.
Mr Stevenson, who comes with 20 years' experience and has been one of the high flyers in Eversheds corporate group both nationally and regionally for some time, joins the 25-lawyer Birmingham corporate group at Pinsent Masons as a partner.
A specialist plc adviser, his practice focuses on stock exchange new and secondary issues, Blue Book takeover work, corporate finance advice and mergers and acquisitions work for fully listed and AIM companies.
Mr Stevenson's career to date has seen him work on corporate transactions with some of the region's best known major corporates including Lucas-Varity, Britax and MG Rover. He is also a regular adviser to the corporate broking community and plc practitioners in the Big Four accountancy firms.
Most recently he led the teams acting for Hampson Industries on its various fundraisings, including that for the £62.3 million acquisition of Lamsco West and West Coast Composites in America, a deal which brought the group the Merger & Acquisition of the Year award for the second year running in the Midlands Deal of the Year awards in March.
Mr Stevenson was also the lead partner advising high profile Icelandic investor Baugur on its takeover of Whittard of Chelsea.
