Small businesses in the photographic processing industry are invited to take part in a new project to help companies reduce the amount of hazardous waste they produce - and save money.
The Environment Agency is holding a free half-day workshop on the subject at Focus on Imaging, Europe's biggest annual imaging show which takes place the NEC on 1 March.
Businesses that participate in the HAZRED project will receive access to the hazardous waste reduction plan, developed by a team of experts including regulators and industry trade associations.
They will also benefit from free on-site visits by a specialist advisor, including help with implementation of the hazardous waste reduction plan, monitoring and evaluating hazardous waste outputs and cost savings.
Ongoing support and advice will also be available from the HAZRED team, a website and dedicated email address. Businesses can contact firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.hazred.org.uk to find out more or register to attend.
