There will be no cries of "I'm bored" from children staying at a top hotel in Birmingham.
The Macdonald Burlington Hotel in New Street has linked up with Goody Bags in Warwickshire to supply activity packs for children staying over at the 112-bedroom complex.
The goody bags will be filled with puzzle books, wax crayons and a game for children aged between three and 12.
Maria Cave, owner of Kineton-based Goody Bags, started the company ten years ago when her children were toddlers.
"The idea came to me when my children were much younger.
"Emily is now 16 and Sally is 12 but it is a simple idea which has grown into a thriving business," she said.
"We used to supply giftwrapped goods to hotels but the introduction of activity packs has been extremely successful and we now concentrate solely on goody bags.
"We supply 16 different goody bags to hotels and restaurants throughout the UK ranging from 85p to £4.50 and it is great to have gained a contract with such a prestigious hotel chain in the Midlands.
"The feedback that I have received from children is that they love them. There's a real mixture of activities in there and they really do keep kids entertained during the day or before bed-time."
Robert Elliot, director of hotel sales at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel, said the activity packs were proving extremely popular - with children and their parents!
"The packs are a superb way of keeping youngsters occupied during meal times in the restaurant or a wedding reception," he said.
