Shares in Oasis Healthcare jumped by more than a third yesterday after the dentistry business said it had received expressions of interest to acquire the company.
The surge saw the value of the operator of more than 120 dental practices throughout England and Wales rise to #19.6 million.
"There can be no certainty that any offer will be forthcoming," Oasis Healthcare said in a statement.
The company was evaluating its position with its advisers Oriel Securities and would make a further announcement in due course.
In May, the company reported a loss after tax of #0.1 million for the year to the end of March, against a loss of #2.8 million the year before, on turnover of #82.5 million.
At the time it said the current year had started well.
Oasis currently has nine centres in the Midlands.
