Troubled retailer Marks & Spencer has drafted in a comedy trio to promote its quality menswear collection.

Jimmy Carr, Martin Freeman and Bob Mortimer appear modelling suits and shirts from the new Autograph range in a new advertising campaign.

Shot by legendary fashion photographer David Bailey, the campaign promotes the collection by British designers Timothy Everest and Nigel Hall.

It will run from September 8 for about six weeks to coincide with the Autograph line's expansion from 30 to 180 M&S stores.

Carr said: "Who doesn't wear M& S underwear ? They've been 'supporting' me for years and now I'm glad I've got a suit to wear as well.

"Marks & Spencer is a great British institution and I'm very happy to be associated with it."

Autograph collection prices start at £39.50 for a Nigel Hall 100 per cent merino wool sweater, rising to £249.00 for a tailored suit by Timothy Everest.
