Mills & Reeve's commercial disputes team in Birmingham has capped off a year of growth with the appointment of Jonathan Nixon as a senior solicitor.

Mr Nixon has joined the firm from Pinsent Masons where he worked as an assistant solicitor for two years before being promoted to associate in May 2004.

He is the fourth member of Mills & Reeve's commercial disputes team, headed by partner Steve Allen. Mr Nixon joins other recent recruits Rebecca

Calden-Storr, who started with the firm in May as a senior solicitor from Wragge & Co and Anthony Minnis who was recruited from Eversheds in September last year.

"This is a sign of the success the team has enjoyed since it was first established in our Birmingham office a year ago," added Mr Allen. "From a standing start we have established an impressive client base and are continuing to build a team of experienced solicitors that have the skills and capability to provide a high standard of service to those clients."

He added: " I have worked with Rebecca before and Jonathan was a key member of the opposing side on a matter I was involved in a couple of years ago. Both impressed me and having them on board is a real bonus for the team.

"They provide an important additional resource to the commercial disputes team in Birmingham. Their appointments will provide the team with the resource and experience needed to deal with the increasingly complex and high value disputes referred to us by our commercial clients."
