Birmingham law firm Carvers has doubled up by strengthening its criminal and family law departments.
The city's "leading sub-urban firm", with four offices across Birmingham, has appointed family law solicitor Steven Lobley and promoted criminal expert Alex Walsh Atkins to partner.
Mr Walsh Atkins, who joined seven years ago, becomes the criminal team's second partner alongside head of department Simon Bailey.
Born in Sweden, he has worked in the Midlands since completing legal training at Birmingham University. He is experienced in trials, anti social behaviour orders (ASBOs), hearsay applications and other criminal cases.
Mr Lobley joins Carvers from city centre firm Blakemores having qualified as a solicitor 20 years ago. He specialises in private family law, acting in cases covering divorce, separation, custody of children, and disputes between co-habitees.
His career began in civil litigation and a range of work. He has specialised in family law for six years, in county, magistrates and high court hearings.
