Growing demand for new and used parts for Rover cars has led to a Redditch company moving premises to expand.

Rovaparts has moved from Enfield Industrial Estate into 5,280 sq ft site on Park Farm, with the help of Redditch business property consultant John Truslove.

Husband and wife team Nick and Jayne Smith have been running the business for eight years and needed the extra space to provide more parts and expand their range into later Rover models such as the ZR and MG.

They are also now able to take on more repair work and hope that the expansion will lead to a need to increase their total staff of three.

Director Jayne Smith said: “We specialise solely in new and used parts for Rover cars built from 1989 onwards.

“With money still tight, many people cannot afford new cars or new parts on every occasion when something fails.

“Twenty years ago when a car was scrapped there might not have been much left that was of use, but today’s cars are different.

“With modern cars, even when they are beyond economic repair, there will still be much that is recoverable and reusable and our business is to make these parts available to our customers at a sensible price.”

Rovaparts has taken a five year lease on the unit from landlords CNC Property Fund Management Ltd

Mr Truslove said: “It’s great to see a business that has made good out of the demise of Rover.”
