Birmingham-based technology giant SCH today named James Rigby as the managing director of its UK operations.

Mr Rigby is the son of SCH founder, chairman and chief executive Sir Peter Rigby.

Aged 35, James has played a key role in some of SCH's largest flagship wins. He was also recently responsible for establishing the company's position on offshoring in Romania and India.

He joined SCH in 1993 in the engineering services division. In 1995 he was given the task of running the technology sourcing arm, where he became responsible for opening a new distribution centre. Six years ago he was head of services.

Mr Rigby was promoted to general manager in 2003 to run UK non-sales and marketing, also taking on responsibility for all service delivery operations across Europe. Now he assumes responsibility for all SCH UK activities.
