ENTREPRENEURS
Two Black Country entrepreneurs who have been friends since schooldays have joined forces to restore a 150-year-old pub.
Harvey Baines and Ranjit Shocker who have spent around £50,000 on a makeover of the Shoulder of Mutton, in Blackheath.
Mr Baines said the pub was once a magnet for the community and renowned for bar games such as shove ha’penny.
The 33-year-old said it was his intention to get the former regulars to return and offer a mixture of traditional English and Indian snacks as well as local guest beers.
He hopes to eventually have a beer brewed that is particularly associated with the Shoulder of Mutton.
The first pint at the newly restored pub was pulled by the Mayor of Sandwell, Councillor Geoff Lewis.
