A Midlands child care sector training company, Triangle Training, has become the latest acquisition for the fast growing Employability and Skills Group for an undisclosed sum.

Triangle Training employs over 60 staff across its network, delivering child care training to more than 1,000 apprentices from centres in Birmingham and Solihull, the Black Country and Shropshire.

Adrian Holmes, chief executive of ESG, said: "Triangle Training has an outstanding reputation for delivering child care apprenticeship learning programmes.

"It has been recognised by the Adult Learning Inspectorate as one of the UK's top niche training providers. In addition, child care is one of the Learning and Skills Council's areas of priority delivery which means the business has a bright future in terms of market opportunities and funding.

The Employability and Skills Group is a £25 million turnover learning and skills business in the UK's adult training sector.

The 450-strong employee concern comprises four existing companies; Leicesterbased Sencia; STL, the Sheffield apprentice learning specialist; Derbyshire-based Orient Gold, which delivers national training contracts across the UK; and Triangle Training.

The companies deliver learning and skills programmes on behalf of the Learning and Skills Council, National Employer Service and Jobcentre Plus throughout the UK.
