A new independent coffee shop is to open in a landmark building in Moseley.

Cafephilia will occupy the historic former Shufflebotham’s grocery store at 138 Alcester Road and work is underway for an opening at the end of April.

Shufflebotham’s, at the junction with Woodbridge Road, has a long heritage in Moseley.

An excerpt from The London Gazette of August 11 1933 shows the partnership between John Shufflebotham and Alfred John Hands ending in 1933.
