A key organisation set up to promote Birmingham has a new face to help drive a sector worth millions of pounds to the city.

Marketing Birmingham has appointed Trudi Dunlop as PR manager to drive forward a range of promotions and campaigns.

Trudge Dunlop, who joined the organisation at the beginning of August, will play in integral role in implementing all PR activity and campaigns.

Ms Dunlop joins the organisation from The Prince's Trust where she was PR Manager. Prior to that she worked for leading travel PR specialist bob communications.

Marketing director Dave Hodgson, who made the appointment, said: "The appointment of the new PR Manager is key to the ambitions of the organisation - and Trudi will play a significant part in sculpting Birmingham's image with the media.

"Marketing Birmingham, in conjunction with the City Council, will soon undertake a campaign which will highlight the city as an outstanding culinary destination, for which Trudi will execute and coordinate all PR activity.

Ms Dunlop said: " I'm delighted with the appointment and looking forward to the challenge."

Marketing Birmingham is the destination marketing agency for the Birmingham City region.
