The University of Wolverhampton Business School has appointed a new Dean.
Dr Anthea Gregory is currently the Deputy Dean of Hull University Business School and will join the University of Wolverhampton in December.
The appointment marks a return to Wolverhampton for Dr Gregory, who was associate dean of postgraduate and professional programmes at the University of Wolverhampton Business School from 2000 until 2003.
Dr Gregory said: “I have been greatly impressed by the investment and changes that have occurred at the University since I have been away.
"I am excited about returning to the University and want to harness the enterprising spirit of the School to connect with business and provide a rich learning experience for students.”
Staff and students at the Business School recently completed a move to the university’s City Campus from their previous bases at Telford and Compton.
“The Business School has always been a great place to work and study but moving to the centre of the city will put it at the heart of the business community and provide students with a fantastic learning environment,” Dr Gregory added.
Dr Gregory holds a first class BA (Hons) Business Studies degree from Sheffield City Polytechnic and a PhD from the University of Leicester. She began her career working for the entrepreneur Chris Finnegan in London and later Northamptonshire. The cake manufacturing business expanded rapidly and she was projects manager as the company grew from 50 employees to over 200 staff.
She began her academic career in 1989 and has held a number of management positions.
Dr Gregory joined Sheffield Business School where she became the Head of Undergraduate Programmes and then moved to Huddersfield University Business School in 1999 as principal lecturer and subject leader for management.
