Commercial property specialist Justin Mason has been appointed by Midlands law firm Needham & James as associate partner.

Mr Mason, aged 33, who has nearly eight years experience in all aspects of commercial property law, will work with Needham & James partners Roger Mason and Chris Williams to help handle a growing caseload, and to strengthen the firm's presence in the Birmingham market.

He will be responsible for handling a broad range of client matters including development projects, property portfolio rationalisation strategies and landlord and tenant issues.

He joins Needham & James from Pinsent Masons where he acted for a range of clients including private developers and institutional landlords as well as for large companies, mainly in the logistics sector.

He has also been involved in a large number of property finance projects, advising lenders in respect of multi-million pound facilities to housing associations, and the funders of the Fort Dunlop and Rotunda redevelopment schemes in Birmingham.

Mr Mason said: "This is an exciting time to be joining Needham & James who are celebrating 50 years of success this year, and relocating the Stratford-upon-Avon office. It is also a great opportunity for me to develop my career within a property department which has a growing client base, not only in the Midlands but across the UK.
