Employees from companies across the West Midlands have had a well-earned shave after raising thousands of pounds throughout November by growing facial hair.

A total of 31 members of staff from the NEC Group raised more than £2,000 for charity by taking part in Movember.

Elsewhere, employees from law firms, marketing agencies and the property sector also got involved.

The team, which includes 31 members from the group’s marketing and IT teams, spent the month of November perfecting their facial hair to help raise awareness for men’s health.

Founded in Australia back in 2003, Movember has become one of the fast-growing phenomenons of recent times, with thousands of men sporting moustaches around the world.

The idea being to raise awareness of men’s health, particularly prostate cancer and cancers that affect men, as well as money for three important charities; The Prostate Cancer Charity, The Institute of Cancer Research and Global Action Plan.

Elsewhere, DTZ’s corporate real estate team in Birmingham has raised more than £1,300 for the Movember cause.

Four plucky participants from the office team took up the moustache growing challenge.

And Lichfield law firm Keelys took part, raising a total of £200 for the men’s health charity.

Colleagues at West Midlands marketing agency Gough Bailey Wright (below) raised more than £400 for the annual campaign.
