The Birmingham office of national law firm Mills & Reeve helped raise more than £3,000 for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) Charity by staging a concert at St Philip’s Cathedral.
The firm joined forces with musicians and singers from Birmingham to present a gala evening of music and song. Acts included Quinton Community Choir, Abigail Kelly, Godfrun Moore and Birmingham Conservatoire’s Brass Ensemble.
More than 100 people attended the concert with the money raised helping to fund the creation of a Forces & Families Centre at QEHB.
Mills & Reeve partners Dawn Brathwaite and Bridget Archibald visited the new hospital to present a cheque for £3,637 towards the Forces and Families Appeal to Group Captain Williams, Commandant of the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine, and Mike Hammond, chief executive of the hospital charity.
Mr Hammond said: “Not only did we have a great night at the concert, but the amount Mills & Reeve has donated is astounding. It’s been great to see how Birmingham has really got behind the hospital charity’s appeal to support the military patients who are treated here and Mills & Reeve is leading the way for the business community.
“We’re very grateful for all their hard work and support.”
