Miller Homes is looking for tenfold growth in the West Midlands, following a 24-month land investment programme expected to total nearly £40 million by the end of the year.
The move follows a multimillion pound investment in the first quarter of this year which saw it spend an average of £1 million a month on land.
A further £15 million is contracted for the rest of the year which will be added to a £20 million investment figure in 2004.
The company yesterday revealed it was looking to get planning permission for 867 homes across the region this year, compared with 88 in 2004.
The projected developments for the company include more than 250 homes in Burton; 100 in Birmingham and 187 in Leamington Spa.
Miller Homes has also agreed terms or signed contracts for other major developments, such as a projected 350 homes in Erdington and 119 in Worcester.
The work is due to start next year.
