Financial planning specialist Jobson James has appointed Miles Goodworth as director to its fast growing regional corporate and private client financial planning practice.

Mr Goodworth will become the sixth director of the 19-strong Edgbastonbased firm.

His immediate plans include the launch of an independent mortgage brokerage service for the firm and a series of seminars delivering advice on investments, inheritance tax and pensions.

Mr Goodworth moves from a six year career with Think Financial Planning in Solihull where he was a partner.

He said: "Financial services is becoming increasingly complex. It is extremely difficult for small companies to provide a comprehensive service in all areas of financial expertise with the depth of knowledge essential in today's market place.

"I believe that only a larger organisation with sufficient resource and experience can effectively meet this need. Jobson James has the resource to provide an excellent platform for the provision of corporate and private client financial planning."

Richard Venner, director of financial planning for Jobson James, added: "To remain a key player in the regional financial services sector we need to constantly evaluate our performance and invest in ourselves.

"Miles will make great input at executive level to implement new ideas and strategies to enable us to continue our delivery of best practice and remain ahead of the competition.

"Miles will complement the existing investment planning skills and further strengthen our profile presence and overall service provision."
