A local charity is asking men take part in a sponsored walk wearing high heels.
Walk A Mile In Women’s Shoes, which takes place on October 17 at West Park, in Wolverhampton, has been organised by The Haven which supports women and children affected by Domestic Violence.
The ‘Walk a Mile’ event is part of an international campaign with over 150 walks taking place across the globe.
Grace Lee, public relations officer for The Haven said the event was fun, but for serious reasons.
She said: : ‘There is an old saying that you can’t really understand another person’s experience until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.
“Walk a Mile in Women’s Shoes asks men to literally walk one mile in women’s high-heeled shoes.
“It’s not easy walking in these shoes, but it’s fun and it gets the community to talk about something that’s really difficult to talk about – domestic violence.”
