A memorial service is being held to celebrate the life of Ronnie Bowker, Ernst & Young’s former senior partner in Birmingham.
Mr Bowker – described as one of the “true gents” of the Birmingham business community – passed away in December after suffering from cancer.
The service will be held at 11.30am on Monday, March 14, at Symphony Hall in Broad Street. The service is open to all those who knew and worked with Mr Bowker and will be a celebration of his life and his contribution to Birmingham and its business community.
Mr Bowker, who was born in South Africa but moved to Birmingham in 1994, held the role of senior partner for the Midlands at Ernst & Young for nearly 15 years after initially serving as an audit partner. He was involved in a number of professional organisations including CBI West Midlands Regional Council, Birmingham Forward and the Birmingham Learning & Skills Council, and was a supporter of the arts, holding positions as chairman of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and director of the Hippodrome Trust.
