Aerospace-and-defence group Meggitt - owner of Midland company Dunlop Aerospace - is planning to make more acquisitions this year.
Speaking at the Paris Air Show, Meggitt's chief executive, Terry Twigger, said the integration of its £427 million Dunlop Aerospace acquisition was in the closing stages and the group would continue to expand this year.
Dunlop Aerospace has major plants in Coventry and Birmingham.
"We will continue the policy the group has had of making bolt-on acquisitions that we pay for out of our own cashflow.
"We would expect to make some acquisitions during 2005 and in 2006 onwards," he added.
The company, which is tipping a stronger performance this financial year as civil aerospace recovers, hopes to grow its existing business by seven to ten per cent, said Mr Twigger.
Meggitt said an improvement in the US dollar would also help earnings this year.
