A cancer charity has issued a challenge to Midland businesses to better its 2012 fundraising challenge total of £16,000.

Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Big Build Appeal, which aims to build a £7 million hospice in Solihull, had success earlier this year with its 50/50 Challenge.

Fourteen corporate teams entered and were given £50 each and 50 days in which to generate the most profit.

Altogether they raised more than £16,000 with Aviva Risk Management Solutions in Shirley declared the winners having turned their initial stake into £3,314.
