The Serious Fraud Office was expected to make a statement today about whether a criminal investigation will take place into the collapse of MG Rover.
The SFO has spent the last month reviewing the case and was expected to reveal whether it would examine the final days of the manufacturer.
More than 6,000 workers lost their jobs when the the Longbridge demise was confirmed in April, 2005, and the wait continues for the publication of a £16 million Government inquiry.
However, the Birmingham Post understands it will not happen immediately.
Some reports claim the detail will not see the light of day until after a General Election.
