Trainee Michael Cox has picked up a prize on the path to a promising career by winning the West Midlands Plumbing Apprentice of the Year Award.
The 23-year-old with Birmingham-based building services provider JS Wright was honoured for his exceptional skills and competence in the West Midlands Regional Training Awards.
Michael, who lives in Castle Bromwich, received his trophy from training provider BEST (Building Engineering Services Training) in a ceremony at JS Wright’s Aston head office.
The judges were Sarah Wicks, HVCA head of education & training, David Brown from sponsor Peglar Yorkshire Fittings, and Frank Hall from Smethwick Heating.
One of 10 apprentices that are receiving high standards of personal development training in the new JS Wright Academy, Michael has also completed his NVQ level 2 in plumbing and is working towards his Level 3 certificate.
Paul Millington, contracts support manager, said: “Michael has developed from an unsure school leaver into a confident and competent apprentice and his attendance and timekeeping are exemplary. He thoroughly deserves his success.”
