Diggers from Staffordshire manufacturer JCB are being shipped over to South Africa to prepare match venues.
As football fans from around the world descend on South Africa, a squad of nine JCB Teletruk forklifts are busy helping to prepare the match venues for thousands of fans from around the world.
The trucks manufactured at JCB Utility Products in Cheadle, Staffordshire, are in action at the six main World Cup arenas helping to prepare hospitality suites and other visitor facilities in and around the grounds.
The 4x4 machines were considered ideal to move and lift building materials during the final construction and fit out phases of the work being carried out at Soccer City, Johannesburg - the main 94,000-capacity World Cup stadium that will hold the opening and final games - as well as the Royal Bafokeng Stadium at Rustenburg, Free State Stadium, Bloemfontein, Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane, the Durban Stadium and Green Point Stadium at Cape Town.
Mike Poxon, International Sales Manager - JCB Industrial, said: “The tasks at the World Cup stadiums required a forklift truck that was flexible and capable of working on rough ground - and the JCB Teletruk fitted the bill perfectly.

It’s not the first time that JCB has been called up for World Cup duty - a 22-tonne JCB JS220 tracked excavator was used in the construction of showcase Allianz Arena in Munich for the 2006 competition in Germany
