Midland-based LPC Group has appointed a new UK managing director.

The Leicester-based company has appointed former Cadbury production worker Tony Camp to the challenging position.

The company said one of the reasons for selecting Mr Camp was his solid understanding of the UK Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) grocery market, having worked in the sector for almost 30 years.

Mr Camp joins LPC after five years as managing director of Leaf UK, which makes Chewits confectionery.

The 49-year-old from London started his career at Cadbury, before moving on to hold various commercial management positions at Premier Foods and then becoming marketing director at Burton’s Foods.

“I’m very pleased to be joining LPC at this point as the group’s expansion plans are really something to behold,” said Mr Camp. “I think my varied experience of the UK grocery sector will stand me in good stead for leading the company forward, and clearly I believe that the paper category in particular is one of the most interesting in the market place.”

The group has rapidly expanded across Europe over the past five years.
