A Birmingham manufacturer has helped with security upgrades at the city’s international airport.
Alwayse Engineering has supplied the stainless steel roller tables used in the airport’s security screening area.
The tables represented a unique contract and were tailored to the airport’s specific requirements.
They are fitted with the Alwayse stainless steel Euro unit, which has a load capacity of 38kgs.
While the Birmingham factory is the world’s leading manufacturer of ball transfer units, it also has an extensive fabrication department that manufactures bespoke ball tables and roller conveyor equipment.
The company, which started trading in 1939, employs 60 people at its 35,000 sq ft factory in Miller Street.
It exports 70 per cent of its products to more than 60 countries worldwide and this year it was recognised with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category.
