Climbers from Mansell Construction Services are on top of the world after their Three Peaks exploits raised a mountainous £8,000 for charity.

The seven-strong team from Mansell's Stourbridge-based Western region successfully completed the challenge in just 20 hours and 40 minutes, securing a silver medal. The team scaled Britain's highest peaks of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.

Their successful expedition raised cash for Mary Stevens Hospice, BID Services with Deaf People and the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund.

Taking part in the challenge were Mansell regional managing director Steve Davies, Dean Howard, team captain Peter Rew, James Dawson, Greg Hopkins, Steve Oldacre and Mark Boland. Drivers were John Henman, Simon Bardell and Steve Marsh.

Dean Howard, Mansell divisional construction manager, said: "It is a real pleasure that through a fantastic team effort we are able to put something back into the community by making a donation to such a deserving cause."
