Cash and carry giant Makro has invested £10 million into its leading West Midlands store as part of a long term investment plan to improve customer service.

The Halesowen site, which services more than 68,000 professional and small business customers in Birmingham and the West Midlands, was relaunched on November 7, with 1,000 new product lines, a new team of product and service experts, and a redecorated interior.

It will include more fresh produce, improved fixtures and signage and a household department that is 30 per cent bigger.

The Halesowen site was the third of Makro's 33-store network to receive extensive refurbishment due to its thriving customer base.

Customer manager Kenny Jacobs said: "Business in the region is developing significantly and with that so are the needs of our customers.

"The Halesowen store was specially selected for the multi-million pound investment because the area needs more and they will get that at Makro.

"We've also drawn upon the experiences and success of our parent company, Metro, which has stores operating across the globe and Halesowen is closely modelled on those that have been a success in Europe."
